Sanctions Hearing Officially Announced

The Senate Finance Committee has officially announced the hearing on S. 970. It will take place on April 8 , 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building. Witness will include Bill Reinsch of the National Foreign trade Council, Philip Gordon of Brookings Institution and Danielle Pletka of American Enterprise Institute.

A fourth witness is also likely and rumor is that it will be Orde Kittrie, currently a visiting professor at the University of Maryland School of Law. His views are expressed pretty clearly in a paper entitled "Emboldened By Impunity: The History and Consequences of Failure to Enforce Iranian Violations of International Law."
